Years of experience and search of our Scientist Stephen Fookes gave as result a unique Natural Wool Insulation product, our PURE WOOL LIFE INSULATION.
Natural Wool Insulation in batts and other similar wool insulation products were generating the same problem than regular insulation because it could shrink and compress over time even some of them were added with boric acid, product that has been banned in some European countries due to its harmful effects on health.
PURE WOOL INSULATION by Wool.Life purifies the air. Its complex fiber structure absorbs and breaks down dangerous volatile organic compounds, such as Formaldehyde, in the atmosphere. PURE WOOL INSULATION helps maintain a constant indoor temperature and humidity which also contributes to maintaining cleaner air.
Wool absorbs VOCs within its core and rets them (breaks them down on the molecular level). Wool can purify indoor air for up to 30 years. Air pollution occurs when gases or particulate pollutants build up in indoor atmospheres without adequate air exchange. These Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) can build up in your home to harmful levels, thereby affecting your comfort and health.
There are three common gaseous indoor air pollutants with known adverse health effects. These are Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), and Formaldehyde (HCOH). Formaldehyde is found in fiberglass and has been classified as a known human carcinogen (cancer-causing substance) by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. These gases are often present as a result of building materials, interior furnishings and household chemicals, as well as heating systems, home appliances, and tobacco smoke.
The level of invisible contaminants directly impacts our and our family’s health and is frequently the culprit behind respiratory illness; eye, sinus, and throat irritation; headaches; dizziness; and fatigue (EPA 2008).
A true-life example of wool’s air-purifying ability occurred when pure wool insulation was installed into five buildings that had Formaldehyde concentrations that registered above 0.05ppm (The World Health Organization’s recommended level). Within 24 hours of installation, German researchers recorded that the Formaldehyde concentrations had dropped below that level in all five buildings.
Wool also can help to relieve allergies, as its microscopic scales trap dust until cleaned or vacuumed, thus making the indoor air cleaner to breathe. The fibers of wool are too long and coarse to be inhaled, and so wool will not irritate the respiratory system or trigger an allergic response. This aspect especially sets Natural Wool Insulation apart from its competitors, as it can be installed without the use of respiratory equipment, protective clothing, or gloves. Additionally, our pure wool insulation can be blown into areas on top of existing insulation without disturbance.

I had recently added to my home and needed to get the addition insulated. I have had a construction company the past 18 years and built custom homes and high end remodels. As this was my business, I wanted the best for my home. With a recent change out of my HVAC unit before construction, I did not want to spend the extra money to change the unit for a larger one, so I decided to go with better insulation to bridge the gap of not enough HVAC for the square footage. I choose to go with Natural Wool Insulation. I was very surprised with all the attributes of using wool as insulation. Far more than all the other products on the market.
As more than a year has passed since I installed the Natural Wool in my addition, I could not be more satisfied with its performance. My power bill being so much better is the largest plus but the addition that I installed this in, which has the least amount of cooling, has shown to be the most comfortable room in the house and stays the most constant temperature. I could not be happier!
I am now looking at the amazing sound deadening qualities of wool and pushing to install on a new construction job inside a large sports complex. The concern we have is the load environment of a gymnasium that is constantly operating and having executive offices inside that environment. With  Natural Wool Insulation I am sure we will be pleased with its performance in this application.
Sincerely,
Josh Laney
